Understanding employer (sponsor/witness/learner) requirements
- Follow an Assess-Train-Assess model to implement the ITQ journey
- Provide a full IT user skills management solution and advise on the link between learning and business, understand business goals and measure the impact of learning
- Analyse skills gaps, working with employers directly to ensure training is linked to business need
- Offer a choice of blended learning approaches to give the employer and learner flexibility in time, place and pace of course delivery
- Responding to learner needs and preferences
Communicate options clearly to learners
- Personalise ITQ to balance employer and learner requirements
- Personalise learning to meet learner preference for mode of delivery
- Provide personalised and robust learner support through the learning and assessment process
- Support learning and assessment with technology where appropriate
Managing the learning and assessment process
- Understand and apply ITQ rules of combination correctly, incorporate bespoke/specialist software and sector specific units where appropriate
- Recognise workplace expertise through working with company-based assessors and expert witnesses
- Use appropriate assessment methods to measure learning and achievement
Maintaining relationships
- Review learner progress
- Provide clear and regular reports on learner progress to both learners and employers
Developing people
- Enable staff (trainers, assessors and verifiers) to regularly update their own skills and knowledge through peer networks, ITQ newsletters and research reports.
- Support the professionalisation of trainers/tutors, assessors and verifiers through the provision of appropriate CPD opportunities
- Conform to agreed codes of professional practice
